Language therapy for kids in Henderson & Las Vegas
Language is how children make sense of the world and share what’s inside — from following directions to telling a whole story.
At GO Therapy Las Vegas, licensed speech-language pathologists help children understand and use words, sentences, and meaning, in our Henderson clinic or by teletherapy anywhere in Nevada.
What we work on
Language covers both understanding (receptive) and using (expressive) words and sentences. Therapy can include:
Receptive Language
Understanding directions, questions, vocabulary, concepts, and stories.
Expressive Language
Using words, phrases, grammar, sentences, and narratives.
Vocabulary & Concepts
Colors, sizes, categories, spatial words, time words, and describing words.
Grammar & Sentence Structure
Pronouns, verb tense, plurals, and sentence length.
Storytelling & Sequencing
Retelling events, organizing ideas, and understanding beginning, middle, and end.
Signs parents notice
Language grows in many directions at once, so it can look different from child to child. Parents often reach out when they notice:
- Following directions or answering questions seems harder for your child than for other kids their age.
- Your child uses fewer words than you'd expect, or relies mostly on pointing and gestures.
- Sentences are short, or words come out in a mixed-up order.
- Retelling what happened at school or in a story is a struggle.
- Words like pronouns, plurals, or past tense are often tricky.
Noticing one of these doesn't mean something is wrong — every child develops at their own pace. It's simply a good reason to ask, and an evaluation is the clearest way to know.
What therapy looks like at GO Therapy
Starting is simple. Here's how it goes.
- 1
Reach out
Tell us a little about your child. Call us, or start a quick intake online.
- 2
We listen & evaluate
About an hour with you and your child — a standardized assessment, observation through play, a look at medical history, and your own input as the caregiver. From there we'll tell you whether therapy makes sense and, if it does, build an individualized plan. Therapy always starts with an evaluation.
- 3
We get to work
Play-based sessions begin — and we guide your family every step of the way.
Language sessions are built around play and real conversation — books, games, pretend play, and everyday routines. Your therapist models and expands your child's language, and shows you how to keep it going at home.
Sessions happen in our Henderson clinic at 1481 W Warm Springs Rd, Suite 138, Henderson, NV 89014 (open Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm), or by secure video anywhere in Nevada.

What parents say
In their own words, from our Google reviews.
“Had a great experience with the specialist here. Good communication with how to teach our little ones at home. Learned how to show our little one different ways to start speaking in full sentences.”

Questions about language therapy
- What's the difference between receptive and expressive language?
- Receptive language is understanding — directions, questions, vocabulary, concepts, and stories. Expressive language is using words, phrases, grammar, and sentences to share ideas. A child may find one harder than the other, and therapy can work on both.
- How can I help my child's language at home?
- Everyday moments are full of chances to talk — meals, bath time, car rides, and play. Our free Language Activities at Home page has quick ideas in English and Spanish, and your therapist will share ways to carry over what your child is working on.
- What happens at the first visit?
- About an hour with you and your child — a standardized assessment, observation through play, a look at medical history, and your own input as the caregiver. From there we'll tell you whether therapy makes sense and, if it does, build an individualized plan. Therapy always starts with an evaluation.
- Can we do teletherapy instead of coming in?
- Yes. Your child can meet a licensed GO Therapy speech-language pathologist by secure video from anywhere in Nevada. We don't do home, daycare, or school visits — teletherapy is our flexible alternative.
