Speech Sound Production
Speech sound (articulation) therapy for kids in Henderson & Las Vegas
We help children say sounds and words more clearly — so they can be understood by family, friends, and teachers with less frustration.
At GO Therapy Las Vegas, licensed speech-language pathologists work on speech sounds through play, in our Henderson clinic or by teletherapy anywhere in Nevada.
What we work on
Speech sound production is how clearly a child says sounds and words. Depending on your child, therapy can focus on:
Articulation
Difficulty making specific sounds, such as /r/, /s/, /l/, “th,” /k/, or /g/.
Phonology
Speech patterns that affect many words — leaving off final sounds, saying “tat” for “cat,” or simplifying blends.
Motor Speech
Difficulty planning or coordinating mouth movements for speech, such as childhood apraxia of speech or dysarthria.
Signs parents notice
Many sounds come in gradually, and some typically take longer than others. These are things parents often mention when they reach out:
- People outside the family often have a hard time understanding your child.
- Your child swaps one sound for another — saying “tat” for “cat,” for example.
- Certain sounds, like /r/, /s/, /l/, or “th,” seem stuck even as other skills grow.
- Your child leaves sounds off the ends of words or simplifies blends.
- Your child gets frustrated, or goes quiet, when they aren't understood.
Noticing one of these doesn't mean something is wrong — every child develops at their own pace. It's simply a good reason to ask, and an evaluation is the clearest way to know.
What therapy looks like at GO Therapy
Starting is simple. Here's how it goes.
- 1
Reach out
Tell us a little about your child. Call us, or start a quick intake online.
- 2
We listen & evaluate
About an hour with you and your child — a standardized assessment, observation through play, a look at medical history, and your own input as the caregiver. From there we'll tell you whether therapy makes sense and, if it does, build an individualized plan. Therapy always starts with an evaluation.
- 3
We get to work
Play-based sessions begin — and we guide your family every step of the way.
For speech sounds, sessions are hands-on and playful. Your therapist may help your child hear the difference between sounds, practice them in games, and gradually carry them into words, sentences, and conversation — and show you simple ways to practice at home.
Sessions happen in our Henderson clinic at 1481 W Warm Springs Rd, Suite 138, Henderson, NV 89014 (open Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm), or by secure video anywhere in Nevada.

Questions about speech sound therapy
- Is it normal for young children to mispronounce some sounds?
- Yes. Speech sounds develop gradually, and some are usually mastered later than others. Our free speech sound development chart shows when common sounds typically develop. If you're unsure whether your child is on track, an evaluation is the clearest way to find out.
- What's the difference between articulation and phonology?
- Articulation is about making specific sounds, such as /r/, /s/, or “th.” Phonology is about speech patterns that affect many words — like leaving off final sounds or saying “tat” for “cat.” A child may have one, the other, or both, and your therapist will build the plan around what your child needs.
- What happens at the first visit?
- About an hour with you and your child — a standardized assessment, observation through play, a look at medical history, and your own input as the caregiver. From there we'll tell you whether therapy makes sense and, if it does, build an individualized plan. Therapy always starts with an evaluation.
- Can we do teletherapy instead of coming in?
- Yes. Your child can meet a licensed GO Therapy speech-language pathologist by secure video from anywhere in Nevada. We don't do home, daycare, or school visits — teletherapy is our flexible alternative.
